About

About the Kids Bedtime Calculator

The Kids Bedtime Calculator is a free tool that helps parents determine the right bedtime for children of any age, based on published sleep science from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Enter a wake-up time and your child's age to get recommended bedtimes and a full evening routine timeline.

Why we built this

We built this because the AAP's sleep guidelines are well-documented but not easy to apply quickly in everyday parenting. A simple calculator solves that in seconds.

How this site is supported

Kids Bedtime Calculator is built and maintained by the Rytell family-health team. It is free to use and always will be, and the site is supported by advertising through Google AdSense. You may see ads displayed on the page โ€” these are served by Google based on general browsing context and help cover the costs of building and maintaining the tool.

The site also includes affiliate links โ€” for example to Amazon โ€” and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Advertisers and affiliate partners never influence our tool outputs or recommendations. The tools produce results based purely on the inputs you provide โ€” advertising relationships have no bearing on what the calculator shows you. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how advertising cookies work.

Accuracy and limitations

Sleep recommendations are based on published guidelines from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and are intended as general guidance. Individual sleep needs vary. Consult your pediatrician if you have concerns about your child's sleep.
